Innovet’s Predecessors:
Innovet is a new venture between the principals of two established companies with decades of contracting experience, Mac Power and Extel Communications. Innovet’s owners decided to combine forces to make something better, a Midwest based SDVOSB with a broad range of experience.
Mac Power was founded in 1997 by Charles McCarty. Mac Power installed high, medium, and low voltage distribution, power, and lighting in commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential facilities. Mac Power’s area of expertise is repair, remodeling, and new construction. In addition to years of commercial, residential, and industrial electrical expertise, Mac Power also has detailed experience in reserve power (battery) systems for the telecom industry.
Extel Communications was founded in 1991 and operated since 1997 by Scott Keifer and John Howard. Over the years, Extel Communications grew into a full service company, providing warehousing, distribution, telecom engineering, materials and installation (EF&I). From 2001 to 2009, Extel completed over 3500 jobs for customers without missing a single deadline or causing a service outage. Projects included engineering and installation of equipment from manufacturers such as: ADC, Adtran, Alcatel, Cisco, Fujitsu, Nortel, Symmetricom, Telect, Tellabs, Westel.
Innovet is Formed:
In 2009, the owners of Mac Power and Extel Communications combined their years of experience and knowledge to form Innovet. Innovet quickly began taking on residential, commercial and governmental electrical projects, and became a prime-contractor for the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, Innovet drew upon Extel's experience in warehousing, distribution and supply chain management to assist customers with their service-disabled veteran business spend goals.
